What is Label Mapping?

Label mapping allows you to create or modify custom label templates that can be generated through the business rules.

Adding a Label Mapping

To add a label mapping select the blue add button in the top right of the panel. Give the new label mapping a name and then select save changes.

When editing the mapping, make sure all fields are filled out on each line. The possible elements for each line are:
  • Line - Creates a line on the label
  • Text - Places text on the label. This text can be static, or you can pull a field from the object being used by entering an object and placing curly braces around it, like this example: {Order Number}
    • Note: for Text records, the X and Y are as follows:
      • X: Column based system, with 16 total columns for a 4x6 label (24 if label is in landscape mode).
      • Y: Text based height. For example, if all text in a section is the same size, you can increase the Y by 1 for each line in that section.
  • Barcode - Places a barcode on the label with the specified height and width. Barcode values can be similar to Text values.
  • Image - Places an image on the label. Please contact support for this, as this is a difficult process.
At any time in the process, you can click the Preview button at the bottom of the page to view a copy of what the label would look like when it generates.

Using a Label Mapping

Once the mapping has been created, you can use this mapping by creating a business rule with a similar action to below:

In this action, you can choose whether you want the label to print once per the shipment, or once per package/pallet via the For Each dropdown.

Note: Label rules needs to be set up with the event "Before Label Prints" so the resulting label gets added to the print queue.
