What are Users?


Users are the registered logins that your organization uses to log into the Shipstore portal and Merchant app. Users can be assigned permissions based on the modules of Shipstore that they need access to (i.e. shipping, reporting).

To modify your users, go to Admin -> Users in the sidebar.

Adding a User


To add a user, select the blue add button in the top right. This will open the New User Setup window.

User Permissions

The permissions section is where you can control what the user can access within your Shipstore environment. Here's a quick explanation of the roles in the system

Admin

Admin gives the user full control over your environment, make sure the user is comfortable with your operations and Shipstore before granting this level of access. 

Shipper

Shipper allows the user to access the Ship functionality of Shipstore, granting them the ability to create Shipments on your organization's behalf.

Reporting

Reporting allows them to access the Reporting section of Shipstore where they can view the shipments your organization has completed given different customizable criteria (ship date, carrier, package weight etc.).

Assign Password?

If Assign Password is active, you have the ability to preset a password for the user you are creating. Be sure to follow password requirements listed below the Password field.

If Assign Password is not active, an email will be sent to the provided email address, allowing the user to create their own password.

Once the email has been received, select the click here link at the bottom of the email and login using your newly created username and one-time password found in the email.

Once you have logged in, select your user account in the top-right of the portal and select Change Password. Here you can update your password to something you can remember.

Note: The temporary password should be changed before logging into the merchant app.

Editing a User

To edit a user, click the blue pen button on that user's row. Here you can update the permissions of the user, as well as restrict the user's access to certain profiles in your environment or see certain reports. 

Removing a User

To remove a user, you can select the red Delete Selected button after checking the box next to the users you'd like to remove from your environment. If you ever have a user having difficulty accessing Shipstore this allows you the ability to just remove them from the environment and re-add them to resolve password issues or where they are locked out of their account.
