What are Shipstore Notifications?
Shipstore notifications are emails that you can have sent out to the consignee or the company you are shipping for to notify them that their order has been processed in your shipping system. These emails can be customized to provide whatever information you would like as long as Shipstore captures that information. You can also add company logo's to these notifications and set up as many different Email Templates as you would like.
Configuring Shipstore Notifications
To get started with Shipstore notifications we will need a default Email Server and an Email Template. First, navigate to Emails underneath the administration panel.

This will take you to the Emails panel where you can add email servers or email templates.

Adding an Email Server
An Email Server is the connection information necessary for the system to properly send emails. This includes the name of the sender, the email account login, and any default address you would like to include on these emails.

Microsoft Exchange/Outlook
For an Office365 connection, please use the following server settings:
SMTP Server Address: smtp.office365.com
SMTP Port: 587
Requires Authentication?: Yes
Enable SSL?: Yes
Gmail
For a Gmail connection, please follow Google's Help Doc at Sign in with app passwords - Gmail Help to create an App Password specially for Shipstore. This gives Shipstore special permission to utilize your Gmail account for the purposes of sending shipment notifications via email.
SMTP Server Address: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port: 587
Requires Authentication?: Yes (Be sure to use your App Password you just created.)
Enable SSL?: Yes
Adding an Email Template
An Email Template is the body of the email that will be sent out. Templates in Shipstore must be built in HTML, and have no style tag for CSS (only inline styling). Templates can include any fields captured in a shipment (i.e. tracking number, service), so long as the template field is surrounded by curly brackets similar to business rules (i.e. to display the master tracking number on an email, you would use {MasterTrackingNumber}).
Your Shipstore install comes with a default template for you to start with. If you need any assistance on setting up a template, please contact us at support@shipstoresoftware.com
